About Shrink Clip

Shrink Clip is a free web app that compresses video to a size you choose — Discord’s 25 MB cap, WhatsApp’s 16 MB chat limit, a 25 MB email, X’s 512 MB upload, and the rest — without sending the file to our servers. There is no account and no watermark.

Why it exists

Most “online compressors” take the original, encode it in a data center, and often stamp a watermark unless you pay. That is a bad deal for private clips, work recordings, and anyone who just needs a file that actually sends. Shrink Clip runs the encoder in your browser tab using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your laptop or phone does the work.

What we do not do

We do not receive your video. We do not store it. We do not sell it. There is no library of past uploads because nothing is uploaded. Close the tab and the in-memory copy is gone.

How the site stays free

Display ads (Google AdSense) and anonymous page-view analytics (Google Analytics) pay for hosting and the time to keep the tool working. Ads never sit on top of Download or the drop zone. The video file itself is not sent to advertisers.

Shrink Clip is an independent tool at https://shrinkclip.app. It is not affiliated with Discord, WhatsApp, Google, Apple, Meta, Telegram, Slack, Snap, ByteDance, or X. Platform size caps in our presets follow public documentation and can change; if a company updates a limit, use Custom target size.
